Overview:

The Production Supervisor oversees the production and warehouse functionalities during the 2nd shift. Responsible for a production team size of 45 crew members. Production Supervisor reports to the Operations and Logistics Manager.
This is an on-site full-time role, requiring standing in refrigerated areas for an extended time period.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily production huddles with crew members to communicate daily production plans.
  • Execute the daily production and shipping schedule.
  • Track down the production deficiencies and report back to the upper management.
  • Monitoring plant efficiency
  • Communicating with Maintenance, Quality, and Sanitation departments on operational needs.
  • Making daily reports on schedule attainment, production efficiency, and on-time shipping compliance.
  • Ensure all safety rules are enforced and executed.
  • Ensure Production Associates follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures to manufacture quality products
  • Ensure daily workflows result in meeting the production target for the day.
  • Support the care and maintenance of all equipment and systems in safe operating condition. Proactively address any equipment issues with the Maintenance Technician and Manager.
  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a team environment and high employee morale. 
  • Support continuous improvement projects
  • Other duties as assigned
Competencies:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience; bachelor’s degree a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role in the manufacturing environment, meat manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, food manufacturing environment with tight deadlines to be met daily
  • Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge on OEE and Warehouse Management systems
  • Ability to prepare weekly KPI reports to assist upper management.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to ensure deadlines are met
  • Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ability to work under, comply with, and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedures set forth by Verde Farms
  • Experience working with USDA-regulated facilities is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (is a plus, not a requirement)
  • Highly collaborative, perceptive, operate with integrity
